Founded by a group of young and dynamic minds with backgrounds in engineering, business and financial management, BambooBee Pte Ltd (BPL) is dedicated to create a buzz about “funponsible”* living within cities using bamboo products.
Established in Singapore, BambooBee will place its initial focus on catering to the local mass public that appreciates and understands our products and professional service.
Subsequently, we will expand abroad to the rest of the south-east Asian region where city dwellers desire access to our eco-friendly products which are not available in their
markets.
(*acronym meaning “fun and responsible”)
Bamboobee is a continuation from the expedition, Circle of Life . After 9 months oversea in Central Asia and back to Singapore on a self-made bamboo bicycle, bamboobee's initiative is created to promote the usage of bamboo. The first initiative will be using bamboo bicycles as tourist bikes for local cycling sightseeing tours. On 151011 NTU ideas Inc Final Competition , bamboobee was honored with the award of Most Socially-Impactful Startup.
'bee' would provide the holistic opportunity for bamboobee to create other creative projects and programs.
Soil planting will be the primary means of planting the bamboos. Tissue culture planting will be tried and sourced. For every product & service provided for our stakeholders, 3 bamboos will be replanted. This iniative is shared with School of Doing _ Kampung Temasek.
Bamboo will generate 35% more oxygen than tree. With 3 bamboos, a mere amount of oxygen will be able to contribute a good positive for the environment. With School of Doing, replanting of bamboo will be a means to cultivate an agroforest.

Sun Soon who prefers to be known as "Ah Sun" as he shares his adventure of 6,000km tracing part of the silk route through Central Asia and Asia- Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, China, Thailand & Malaysia. This "Circle of Life" expedition was covered entirely on a bamboo bicycle that was built by Ah Sun & his friend!

Between 2th May - 19th August, bamboobee bicycle traversed 6103 km along silkroad to prove the toughness of bamboo bicycle.
